Interview with Andrea Malam
“Our thoughts create feelings, feeling create actions, action creates habits. It’s like a circle. We all make mistakes but support is not far. Ask for it.” – Andrea Malam
Today we feature Andrea Malam, the founder at Saving Dreams We hear their story in their own words, their successes, their challenges, and their insights.
Can you please tell us a little bit about you and what you do?
I am Andrea, an Achiever, A Dreamer and a Believer. Empathy my Super power.
I am the founder of Saving Dreams a charity, supporting the underprivileged in the UK and abroad.
Fundraising and Charity Work changed the way I saw the world. It has changed the course of my life.
Everyone has a niche. you just need to find it. My Niche is Inspiring others to make a difference in the world we live in. I turned my passion into my purpose.
I am also a published author/speaker and Emotional Intelligence Expert supporting dreamers to achieve their goals.
As a speaker I help connecting, supporting, and empowering aspiring dreamers on an emotional mission to achieve their goals so I can help underprivileged and terminally ill children and their families to live the departure without regrets.
Can you please tell us in your own words how did you start?
I was born in India but United Kingdom made me. I came to the UK in 1990 and settled in London with family.
Had a wonderful career in the Law Enforcement arena of the Civil Service. Fundraising and Charity Work changed the way I saw the world. It has changed the course of my life.
At the age of 50, I realized my life was meant for something more and decided to pursue my undeniable passion in civil service where I could help underprivileged children and their families. It broke my heart so much that I decided to leave behind a corporate job to pursue my desire to make a difference in the world.
I took a stand leading in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion matters. I started believing in myself and following my dreams. I realised I wanted to be the door opener for others.
Founded my charity Saving Dreams, became a published author and speaker/storyteller, an ambassador but mostly a humanitarian.
Thank you for that insight. So can you tell us…What does your business do?
SAVING DREAMS is based in London but we connect, support and empower others no matter where they are.
As a charity we support various projects, helping thousands of underprivileged children and their families worldwide.
I am passionate about making a difference to the lives of others. Turning my Passion into my Purpose, I do what I do because life matters and we need to start living it to fulfil our dreams.
The greatest legacy that we can give to others is how you make them feel about themselves. This is what I do when supporting others as you know developing your emotional intelligence can help you succeed at any stage of your career or business.
What’s the story behind your success?
Having lost family and friends, to terminal illnesses and being able to counsel the families in their hour of need was something I realized I had a gift for. It was at this moment I realized I could do something that mattered in life by serving others on a much grander scale. I started sharing my story, thus inspiring others.
My mission is to help others truly believe in themselves and recognize that when they do, life is opened up to infinite possibilities.
I have a passion and intention to stand up but lacked the confidence. This is where volunteering helped me with leadership and communication skills – paving the way to self-empowerment.
I have always followed my heart and achieved the unbelievable as my family put it. When you understand what someone else is thinking or feeling, it becomes easier to interact with them.
“Believe in yourself and follow your dreams.”
Thank you for sharing that. What’s been your life’s biggest lesson so far?
I was close to people suffering and knowing they had not long to live. I have helped numerous people including family and friends, to come to terms with the unavoidable and inevitable.
Especially when you see loved ones being diagnosed with a terminal illness.
I was a good listener. This is where Empathy played a big part in what I did and knew I could help and support others going through the same experience. This was the start of the charity and its aims.
I have always followed my heart and achieved the unbelievable as my family put it. When you understand what someone else is thinking or feeling, it becomes easier to interact with them.
“Believe in yourself and follow your dreams.”
If you were to go back in time, what piece of advice would you give to your younger self?
You can always take a chance to make a difference. To change your life you have to do it yourself. Focus on the community and listen to your heart and follow your true calling.
Take a chance. I did and so can you.

What future life goals do you want to achieve and why?

To finish our inspire questions…”We believe that sharing inspiring words can inspire others.” If there was one positive thing you would say to someone to inspire and empower them what would it be and why?
Our thoughts create feelings, feeling create actions, action creates habits. Its like a circle.
We make our own choices based on how we feel which has been stored in our subconscious.
